Taller Chicano: Passing the Torch
During the month of August 2006, Juan Fuentes, Jesus Barraza, and I, Favianna RodrÃguez, were Artists-in-Residence at the De Young Museum.
In celebration of Chicano Visions, Chicano Now, and Chicano Encounters, Juan Fuentes and collaborating artists Jesus Barraza and Favianna RodrÃguez transformed the Kimball Education Gallery into a taller (workshop) during the month of August. We shared our screen-printing and linocut print processes with the public. An installation of posters that were created by and participating public unfolded during the residency.
