This photo marks the beginning of the mural. It represents the legend of the birth of the Inca (Quechua) people. On the top right, you see Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, who were sent to find the Inca civilization by their god, Huiracocha in 1198. The arrival of the Incas to the Cuzco valley is without a doubt the beginning of an era of great splendor. It is in Cuzco where the two founded the center of what would grow to become a great empire. In this image you see the establishment of the empire. Men are building, creating fires. You see the corn, or the choclo as it is called today in Peru. The man on the right hand side is Ayar Kachi holding a waraka. According to the legend this wand (waraka) had special magical powers, for it could break through mountains.
