Favianna with Professor, Shuzo Saito

Pictured here is Favianna (YO! Artist, Oakland) with Professor Shuzo Saito. Shuzo Saito is a professor of Chicano Studies at the Aoyama Women's College. He and Favianna were introduced through Chicana activist/scholar, Elizabeth "Betita" Martinez. Shuzo came to the show excited to meet Latino artist from California. A scholar of Chicano Studies, he was moved by the show and invited two artists, Favianna & Gustavo, to speak to his class at Aoyama Women's College. That evening, he also brought the president of the college, a professor in African American studies. They both enjoyed the show so much that they send their students.
