Pictured here on the left is Maria Hurtado Guzman. She has just registered her print and is getting ready to print her first ink, which will be a baby blue. To the left, Victor Abundiz is helping her set up. He will be the one to position each sheet of paper and she will pull her own prints. What I appreciate about El Faro is the collective spirit of the artists. It is somethign that happens very organically, and it demonstrates to me the the sense of unity and loyalty they have to one another. While they have little in resources, they have alot of heart and they figure out how to make things work for themselves.
